Rope drum, grooved: In the standard version, the rope drums of the “ETSW”, “P”, “TAPW”, “MC” and “SB” series are designed with a smooth drum round. In order to improve the winding behavior of the rope, extend the service life and reduce the distance to any deflection caused by the design, the round section (drum core) is designed with a grooved construction
- Advantages at a glance:
Rope pressure roller: The use of a rope pressure roller is recommended in order to achieve improved winding behavior of an unloaded rope during winding and unwinding. In most cases, the rope pressure roller is installed in conjunction with a grooved rope drum in order to achieve optimum winding behavior with an unloaded rope.
Freewheel clutch: Freewheel clutches are only permitted for use in towing winches. The freewheel clutch enables the cable winch series “MC” and “SB” to be uncoupled from the braked drive. This makes it easy to unwind the cable manually without motor support.
Slack rope switch : The slack rope switch is used in a large number of motorized cable reels and also cable winches. The slack rope switch detects whether the rope is under load or whether it is laid or unwound loosely. This eliminates the risk of loops forming, especially during the unwinding process.
Spooling device: A spooling device mounted in front of the drum has the task of ensuring that the rope is wound onto the drum in an orderly manner. By means of a roller window, which is guided linearly back and forth on a spindle in front of the rope drum, the rope is wound and unwound in an orderly manner across the entire width of the drum, even in several layers. The spooling device also increases the rope deflection angle, which leads to a reduction in the minimum distance between the drum and the first deflection.
Drum protection cover: The drum protection cover is primarily intended for the safety of the operator. It is designed to prevent people, objects or items of clothing from getting into the rope drive.
Manual brake release: In order to be able to lower the load manually in the event of a power supply failure, it is possible to equip the winches in the “SB” series with an optional manual brake release.
The electric wire rope winches in the “P” and “MC” series can be equipped with direct control up to an output of 1.85 kW, whereby the motor current is switched directly via a manual control cylinder. In addition to direct control, the winches can alternatively be equipped with a 42 V contactor control. By using a contactor control system, the electric wire rope winch can optionally be equipped with a spindle limit switch, designed as an emergency limit switch and / or an operating limit switch or an overload protection device. In addition to the use of a direct and contactor control, it is also possible to equip the electric wire rope winch with a frequency converter control. This type of control enables the use of two adjustable speeds as well as freely programmable acceleration and deceleration ramps.
The spindle limit switch is connected directly to the rope drum in the extension of the drum axis. It is used to set freely selectable switch-off positions for the cable winch by adjusting the switching cams inside the switch. The spindle limit switches, designed as emergency limit switches, initially have two contacts as standard, e.g. to limit the top and bottom hook positions. On request, the limit switch can be designed as an operational limit switch with two additional contacts, e.g. for a pre-cut-off.
This video shows how to set the spindle limit switch on an electric cable winch.
For example: the electric cable winch of the P model series, which can lift loads of up to 1 t, or the electric cable winch of the ETSW model series, which can be designed for up to 3 t.
An electrical connection to the mains is realized via a mains connection cable or / and a device attachment plug. The electric cable winch can be disconnected from the power supply, e.g. for servicing purposes, using a mains isolator switch or mains connection plug.
On request, the cable winch can be equipped with manual control buttons, push buttons in the control cabinet door, foot switches, wall switches or a radio remote control. A combination of several controls is also possible. It should be noted that electric wire rope winches with a contactor or frequency inverter control do not initially include any controls as standard, but this option is selected separately as described. Each control unit has pushbuttons with the “Up” and “Down” functions and a mushroom button for the “Emergency stop” function.
